Imran wrote on social media, “I am troubled by the voices that have been raised since Pakistan was not invited to the nuclear conference.” (File photo)
- In this conference, America has invited 40 countries including Modi, Putin, China.
US President Joe Biden has not invited Pakistan to the online conference on climate change. This global conference will take place on 22–23 April. The special thing is that Biden’s Special Envoy John Carrey will also visit India, Bangladesh and UAE from 1 to 9 April to discuss the issue before the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 26) later this year.
Pakistan’s name is also not included in this visit. Pakistan has been upset by this move of America. On this issue, Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed outrage against the US administration on social media. Imran wrote in three comments on social media, ‘I am disturbed by the voices that have been raised since Pakistan was not invited to the nuclear conference. We are trying to reduce the impact of climate change, to create a clean and green Pakistan.
So with our Green Pakistan initiative, planting 10 billion trees, nature based solutions, cleaning of rivers, we have gained a lot of experience in the last 7 years. Our policies have been praised and recognized. We are ready to help any country that wants to learn from our experience. I have already set priorities for the United Nations Climate Change Conference 2021. ‘
Till now, Biden did not talk to Imran over the phone
He has not even had a phone conversation with Imran Khan since Biden took over as US President on January 20. However, the US State Department said earlier this week that the US was ready to work with Pakistan on various levels of climate crisis. But America did not even call Pakistan away from the climate change conference.
